Sponsorship and Exhibitors

The 2018 British Association for Japanese Studies Conference, ‘Crisis? What Crisis? Continuity and Change in Japan’, is being held from 5th to 7th September at INOX, University of Sheffield. It is hosted by the School of East Asian Studies, University of Sheffield, one of the largest and longest-established centres for Japanese Studies in the UK, with a community of researchers focused on a range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. This conference follows the Association’s extremely successful event in 2016 which attracted approximately 150 delegates from 36 different countries. Once again this conference has been publicised worldwide to much initial interest and enthusiasm from academics across a range of disciplines. We anticipate an audience of approximately 200 delegates for whom this will be a major showcase for their research and a unique networking opportunity.

Two internationally recognised keynote speakers have been confirmed for the conference: Mōri Yoshitaka from the Graduate School of Global Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts and Gennifer Weisenfeld, Professor in the Department of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies and Dean of the Humanities at Duke University.

As well as a full programme of papers, there will also be a half-day Postgraduate Event which will feature masterclasses by the keynote speakers.

To make this a memorable and inclusive conference, the planning committee is seeking a range of sponsors interested in contributing to the worldwide development of Japanese Studies.

A variety of sponsorship packages are set out below, outlining the benefits to your organisation. Should the options listed not quite meet your needs, please feel free to contact the conference organisers for further discussion.

We look forward to your support.
