Conferences and Events
The BAJS conference is held on a triannual basis. Papers are presented in a variety of specialist areas and offer an opportunity to keep abreast of current scholarly thought and research in Japanese Studies. In addition, there is a plenary session to which the Association, with the support of sponsors, invites well-known academics and public intellectuals. Some of the papers presented at the conference are published in the Association's publication, Japan Forum.
The Conference is open to non-members who share an interest in Japanese Studies, although membership of the association is required in order to present.
Joint East Asian Studies Conference
The Joint East Asian Studies Conference is jointly organised by the British Associations for Chinese, Japanese and Korean Studies, and is held on a triannual basis. It provides an opportunity for presentation and consideration of the most current academic research on the East Asian region.
